Course Artifact:
The Global Learning Initiative required students to communicate and collaborate with others from across the globe. Participants in this activity were from Raleigh, NC, Doha, Qatar, St. Petersburg, Russia and Honolulu, Hawaii. These students collaborated to better understand global issues. By researching and discussing world issues this initiative ended with participant having a better sense of others global perspectives.

My Project:
My group for the Global Learning Initiative was Bamako. Our group was assigned the global issue: Pandemics. My group decided to research Malaria. Through our research, Bamako, wanted to better understand Malaria and its effect on the world. After our research our group wanted to discuss a country’s and individuals’ responsibility to prevent and treat Malaria.

Project Question:
1) How can having students participate in a Global Learning Initiative further their knowledge of global issues and enhance their abilities to communicate and collaborate with others from across the globe?
